Luciana Paluzzi
The actress Luciana Paluzzi was one of numerous sexy Italian brunettes groomed for world-wide fame in the aftermath of the tragic Gina Lollobrigida. After appearing on both sides of the Atlantic during the 1950s, in movies like Three Coins in the Fountain, (1954), and Sea Fury, (1958) Luciana Paluzzi made her debut on American TV fame in the character of Simone Genet in the spy weekly Five Fingers in 1959. She was invited by Bond producers and was a candidate to play the role of lead Domino Derval in Thunderball. Terence Young gave her Fiona Volpe, one of only a few women who can resist Mr. Bond's charms. Fiona Volpe is murdered on the dancefloor by Bond's personal friends, maybe to punish her for her deeds. James then places her dead body on the table and asks "Do you feel that it is okay if my companion stays at in the house?" Fiona is just dead." This blockbuster's box office success allowed Luciana Paluzzi to extend her European starring career well into the 1970s both in the US and Europe and with movies like Captain Nemo And The Underwater City (1969), The Six Million Dollar Man (1973), The Klansman (1974) and The Greek Tycoon
